In a major step toward industrial revitalization and job creation, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has approved and released the sum of N2.065 billion to accelerate the commencement of business operations by Delta Wire Industries Limited, the first anchor tenant of the Kwale Industrial Park and Free Trade Zone.
According to reliable information gathered, the governor has directed that the company must commence full operations within six months, with immediate effect.
The move, we learnt, is expected to fast-track the activation of the industrial park, a flagship project aimed at driving investment, manufacturing, and economic diversification in Delta State.
The approval marks a significant milestone in the Oborevwori administration’s efforts to stimulate local production, generate employment, and foster business linkages within and outside the state.
By facilitating the take-off of Delta Wire Industries, the state government hopes to attract complementary investments that will expand the industrial value chain and promote backward and forward linkages across sectors.
Stakeholders in the state’s business and industrial sectors have commended the initiative, describing it as a bold and strategic step toward realizing the vision of transforming Delta into an industrial hub in the Niger Delta region. The Kwale Industrial Park, conceived as a free trade and manufacturing zone, is expected to host industries in steel, wire, petrochemicals, and agro-processing, among others.
Observers say that the commencement of Delta Wire Industries’ operations will not only create direct employment opportunities but also stimulate auxiliary businesses in logistics, supply, and services, thereby expanding economic activities within Ndokwa West and surrounding communities.
With the governor’s directive for immediate action and a six-month operational timeline, the state is poised to witness a new wave of industrial growth anchored on strategic public-private collaboration and sustained government support.
